CHARLES le Sueur and Alex Ridgeway are closing in on the Alderley Edge Golf Club Winter League leaders.

The deficit to team Dibble/Johnson/Gosling/Anderson had been cut to two points at the time of writing.

Alderley Edge professional Le Sueur said after the latest round: “VP Alex Ridgway and I were taking on Phil Whelan and Adrian Anton.

“We started well, winning the first and fourth holes. Eventually a birdie putt dropped for me on the sixth for a half after great tee shots from Phil and Adrian.

“Alex then remembered which end of the club to hold and managed to get valuable halves on seven and eight before I closed the game out with a birdie on nine.”

Meanwhile, Alderley Edge ladies played a nine-hole medal and Janette Smith showed her class with 34, two better than Olwen Davies.
