Egerton 4 Maine Road res 3
ASHLEY Wells scored a hat-trick to help Egerton come from behind to beat Maine Road's reserves on Saturday.
Yellows had trailed 2-1 at the interval against the Cheshire League One back-markers, but recovered to record a second successive win since the turn of the year.
"It would have been easy to give in," said stand-in manager Ryan Routley.
"But the boys kept pushing, and got their reward.
"We've scored 10 goals in the past two games, something we've struggled to do the past four months."
Wells put the hosts in front Mereheath Lane, only for their guests to recover.
Nathan Billingham's strike restored parity in the second period before Wells went on to complete a personal treble by hitting the net twice more.
A defensive error was punished when Maine Road made it 4-3, but Egerton held on and rise to eighth in the table.
Egerton: Davies (GK), Waxman, Beresford, Pownall, Carter, Billingham, Bates, Morgan, Devine, Brown, Wells.
