Oswestry 3rd 15 Holmes Chapel 61

HOLMES Chapel extended their 100 per cent record in the North West Intermediate League on Saturday.

Captain Tom Chambers’ final outing for the club saw them clock up a 13th win of the season in Division Five South, starting when Angus Morison’s try was converted by Andy Davies.

An Oswestry penalty was followed by further tries for the visitors from Jack Cottam, Chambers and substitute Nic Clawson to establish a 20-point lead at the break.

The home team closed the gap after the interval, but the men from Station Road responded when Dom Moss touched down.

Mark Mcenaney and Chambers added further tries before Gavin Paton cut a superb line from full back to cross the whitewash and Clawson claimed his second score.

“I’m confident the winning run will continue after I’ve gone,” said Chambers afterwards.

“Dom Moss will do a fine job leading a team that has a wonderful amount of talent and spirit.

“I have enjoyed every second of leading the golden boys of Holmes Chapel into battle.”
