ADDITIONS to the team are making their mark as Egerton bid to keep up with Cheshire League One’s pacesetters.
Josh Rowley netted the decider on his debut in a 3-2 success against Golborne last week.
And Garry Gordon, making only his second appearance, also found the target.
Manager Graham Egerton said: “The quality in the squad is getting higher and the competition for places is giving the coaching staff a headache when it comes to team selection.
“We are positive about this group.”
Egerton, third in the standings, will next play in the return clash at Golborne on Saturday week, December 20, and Graham was pleased with the performance when the sides met at Egerton Youth Club.
“The lads were top draw again for us,” he said, reflecting on a second win in four outings.
“The scoreline didn’t reflect how good the performance was; it could have been many more, but the win was massive for us.”
Egerton broke the deadlock from an Ash Wells corner which found Gordon, who headed home at the back post.
They extended their lead five minutes later when Mike Evans hit a 25-yard drive into the bottom corner.
A quick-fire double after the interval drew the visitors level, but Egerton found a winner through Rowley’s well-taken effort 10 minutes from time.
Egerton: Shalcross (GK), Maunder, Beresford, Clawson, Carter, Gordon, Rowley, Pownall, Wells, Laurence, Evans. Subs: Sutcliffe, Collins, Trowbridge, Lightburn, Fulker.
