HAVING already conquered Europe, could this Knutsford youngster now climb to the top of the world in kickboxing?

Nine-year-old Alana Fagan is certainly on the right path, with her latest performance qualifying her for the upcoming world championships in Portugal.

Alana, who is in Year Five at Lower Peover C of E Primary School, was in Worksop on Sunday for the WKKC English Championships and came home with two medals.

She scooped a silver in the continuous category and a bronze in points, which was enough to seal her place at the worlds later this year.

Now, Alana will look to add a world title to the WMO European Championship she won last year in the 0-8 years novice points section.

She has now moved up an age group and is among the youngest and lightest fighters in the aged 9-12 advanced 25-30kg section, but that did not stop her from making another big stride forward.

“She fought her little heart out,” her mum Samantha said.

“She’s over the moon and we are so proud of her massive achievement.

“It will be a long seven months ahead preparing her and hopefully she brings the world title back to Knutsford.”
