A MAN has died following a crash near Manchester Airport.
The 79-year-old was driving along Palma Avenue in the early hours of this morning, Saturday, when it is believed he suffered a medical episode.
His vehicle collided with barriers on Flag Island.
Paramedics attended but the man sadly passed away a short time later in hospital.
Next of kin have been informed.
There were no other vehicles involved and no injuries reported.
GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit are asking for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who may have CCTV or dashcam footage, to come forwards.
Anyone witnessing the collision is asked to call the Serious Collision unit on 0161 856 4741 quoting log number 604-19082023.
