A summer extravaganza is being the school field on Saturday, July 8, from 12 noon to 3pm and everyone can join in.

Egerton holds a unique place in the Knutsford community not only as a school but also as a link to the town’s history and of course Tatton Park.

Thousands of children have spent their childhood years at Egerton Primary School for more than a century.

The school was founded by Wilbraham Egerton of Tatton Park in 1893 at its original site, which is now Egerton Place on Church Hill.

Headteacher Alison Hooper said: “Once an Egerton pupil, always an Egerton pupil!

“We would love to see lots of past pupils and staff at our summer fair this year to help us commemorate this special 130-year anniversary.”

There is still time for former pupils and staff to upload their photographs and memories on the school’s Facebook page @130yearsofegerton

A memory book is available for the school’s families and friends to sign at Knutsford Heritage Centre, 90a King Street.

The centre is curating the collection of items and photos ready for display at the school’s celebration event on July 8.
