KNUTSFORD-BASED Tatton Brewery is launching its new milestone brew ‘Gyle 666’ at the 2016 Knutsford Beer Festival.

Gyle 666, an Imperial Russian Stout, has been described as ‘tremendously complex’, with ‘rich roast flavours melded by chocolate and dark sugars’, and hints of orange with a ‘warming alcoholic tingle’.

The brewery, based in Parkgate Industrial Estate, has supported the Knutsford Beer Festival since its first year, and will again be providing equipment and technical assistance, as well as a selection of their beers at the event.

“We’re really keen to support local events such as the Knutsford Beer Festival”, says Gregg Sawyer, owner of Tatton Brewery. “We’re thrilled to be bringing this milestone beer to the event, as well as more familiar favourites from our varied range. When we do something, we do it right, and this Imperial Russian Stout is a prime example of a classic English export ale. With huge character and a respectable 12% ABV, it is a deceptively drinkable, smooth beast of a bear.”

Knutsford Beer Festival is taking place on the evening of Friday, October 7, with an afternoon and evening session on the following day, Saturday, October 8. A total of 500 tickets per session are on sale, more than any other year.

Andrew Malloy, Chairman of the Knutsford Beer Festival Committee, added: “The support we get from Tatton Brewery is essential, and helps us make sure the Festival runs smoothly and all our beers are served at their best.”

Tickets cost £10 for an evening session, and £6 for the afternoon session, and can be purchased online from the official website at www.knutsfordbeerfestival.org.uk.
