SHOPPERS will be able to buy plants grown in an award-winning garden on September 11.

Shrubs and plants grown at Arley Hall and Gardens will be on sale at the venue’s annual Autumn Plant Fair, which will also feature stalls run by a host of unique nurseries and horticultural experts.

Some of Arley’s gardeners will also be on hand to answer people’s questions.

“It’s a really celebration of what is one of the country’s most popular hobbies,” said head gardener Gordon Baillie.

“We love sharing our knowledge and experience with anyone and it is lovely for people to know they are taking a piece of Arley home with them when they buy a plant.”

Arley’s gardens are amongst the finest in Europe and have been created over the past 250 years by successive generations of the same family.

The Herbaceous Border is its best-known feature as it is thought to be the first of its kind planted in England.

Throughout the year plants grown at Arley are on sale in the nursery, but at the plant fair a host of other nurserymen will also be selling their unique plants, bulbs and shrubs.

Adult entry is £1.50 which is redeemable against entry to Arley’s stunning gardens, children get into the fair for free but need to pay to see the rest of Arley including the Adventure Playground.

Parking is also free and dogs are welcome on a lead.

The Gardener’s Kitchen café will be open for meals or a delicious tea and cake.

The Autumn Plant Fair runs from 10am to 4pm.
