A DRAFT neighbourhood plan has been produced for Holmes Chapel – and is now ready for villagers to have their say on.

The Holmes Chapel Neighbourhood Plan Team, in conjunction with Holmes Chapel Parish Council, has prepared a draft Neighbourhood Plan for the Parish of Holmes Chapel.

The Holmes Chapel Neighbourhood Plan Working Groups, which is comprised of volunteers in the village, have been working throughout the winter on preparing draft policies that cover many aspects of the village infrastructure and housing.

The consultation period will run from April 30 to June 10.

The purpose of this public consultation, which runs from April 30 to June 10, is to seek representations from statutory consultees, residents and others whose interests may be affected by the draft proposals.

All comments will influence the final draft plan before a further statutory consultation which will be conducted by the Local Planning Authority.

It will subsequently be subject to an independent examination and when it passes this, there will be a referendum of residents.

Brian Bath, Neighbourhood Plan Team Chairman, said: "This is a key milestone in the process of making our Neighbourhood Plan and a significant amount of work has been undertaken by Parish Councillors, community representatives and many volunteers so far but there is still much more to do.

"Reaching this point is a major achievement and one which the whole community can be proud of.”

A copy of the draft plan can be viewed on the Holmes Chapel Parish Council at holmeschapelparishcouncil.gov.uk.

This site also contains details of the public consultation process, the necessary supporting documentation and a method for consultation feedback either online or by completion of a consultation form.

If you would like to make representations on the Plan, then please submit them by June 10 to: Nicola Clarke, clerk to Holmes Chapel Parish Council, 1 Church Walk, Holmes Chapel, CW4 7AZ, 01477 533934 or email clerk@holmeschapelparishcouncil.gov.uk.
