KNUTSFORD Lions had a helping hand from students at the town's Studio School when the fair was staged on Bank Holiday Monday.

Knutsford Lions approached the Studio School at Knutsford Academy to design and make decorations for its stall at the annual Lions Street Fayre held on Monday, May 25, this year with a Magna Carta theme.

It was with a tight time scale and budget that the first meeting took place with a group of Year 10 students aged 14 to 15 from the Studio School on the April 27.

The team of Amy Carr, Millie Colman-Smith, Charlie Eaton and Connor Holah, then came up with a variety of great ideas, which they narrowed down to the concept of a 'Lions Castle', adorned with banners.

James Routs from Studio@Knutsford, said: "We are always keen to work with the local community on projects like this, it offers great experience for our students and enables them to show just how talented they are."

Final approval of the design left only two weeks to make the 'Castle'.

Mike Goldman, who set up the project for the Lions, said: "It was really rewarding to see a group of students succeed in dealing with a brief involving concept, design, art work and fabrication to a tight budget and then delivering it on time - well done to the Studio School.

"It is hoped that this partnership between the Knutsford Lions and the Studio School continues in future years.”
