KNUTSFORD businesses went the extra mile in the name of Pudsey on Friday.

Staff from around 20 businesses in the town gritted their teeth and bared it for a male waxing challenge in aid of Children in Need at La La Spa on November 14.

The spa also offered special promotions on the night, with 50 per cent of proceeds being donated to the cause, and around £700 was raised on the night.

Booths also donned legwarmers and bad perms for their 80s-themed fancy dress fundraiser at the weekend.

Store Manager at Knutsford Booths, Ian Jacques, said: “The generosity of Booths customers was extraordinary and I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who donated for your generous support.

“We are thrilled to have raised a fantastic £2,200 for Children in Need which wouldn’t have been possible without the great fundraising efforts of the team at Knutsford Booths.

“Particular recognition must go to a valiant 88-year-old staff member, Arthur, who danced in fancy dress on Friday and Saturday in the hope shoppers would dig deep for this worthwhile cause.”
